This property, unique due to
its historical background, location and singular
mixture of styles, is situated 5 minutes from
Sitges and just 45 minutes from Barcelona city.
Comprising a hermitage with three attached
dwellings, the property measures 1,000 m2 built
on a section which is also 1,000 m2. Thanks to
its excellent seafront loacation, it enjoys
incomparable views from every room, as well as
typically Mediterranean ambience and light.
The three attached dwellings together total 10
bedrooms, 10 bathrooms, 2 kitchens and three
lounges, as well as having a heated swimming
pool with sauna. Outside, an inviting terrace
with its own well provides areas replete with
peace and quiet.
The hermitage itself originates from the XIVth
century. Later, in the XVIIth century, it was
used as a hospital and then, in the XVIIIth
century, was reconstructed as a church. In 1923,
the modernist architect, Santiago Marco,
renovated it anew. Subsequently, in 1944, its
distinguished owner at the time, the essayist,
journalist, philosopher and art critic, Eugeni d’Ors, promoter of Catalonian Noucentisme,
built the dwelling which today faces the sea.
During that period, the hermitage became an
important cultural meeting point to which major
intelectuals, writers and artists like Camilo
José Cela, Salvador Dalí and Frederic Marès
often went. Finally, from 1990 to 1993, the
entire property was completely remodelled.
Given its distinctive cultural, historical and
architectural characteristics, we have before us
an absolutely unique and exceptional property
which will undoubtedly meet the high demands of
purchasers who are looking for perfect
exclusivity. |
