This charming house is
located in one of the most traditional private
areas of Eixample, Barcelona. Planned and built
in 1864, this area faithfully fulfils the
original idea of Ildefons Cerdà when he planned
Eixample. Within Cerdà’s development and growth,
the areas were destined to become peaceful
backwaters within the hubbub of the city.
In this case, we find
ourselves presented with a perfect example of
the realisation of this idea. With gates that
are closed at night, the area enjoys a high
level of privacy. The houses that make up the
area follow English building styles, with a
basement with toilet and a main floor that can
be entered by means of the garden steps.
This house in particular,
whose facade has been painted in its original
colours, has an interior layout of several
levels, each connected to each other. In the
basement, there is an enormous utility room and
two of the bedrooms. Next, on the ground floor,
we can find the large kitchen and the cosy
living room and, on the floor immediately above,
the main bedroom and study. Lastly, we have to
mention the pleasant terrace on the roof of the
house, with views of the open spaces offered by
this area.
Blessed with an absolutely
exceptional location and a relaxing and peaceful
atmosphere, we are definitely dealing with a
property that represents, given its qualities, a
real haven of tranquillity right in the heart of
the city |
